Soon 10000 displaced Ukrainians will be able to come to Cacnda for free

Soon 10,000 displaced Ukrainians will be able to travel to Canada for free.

Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada: We just finished an important announcement that will help at least 10,000 Ukrainians travel to Canada!

The Ukraine 2 Canada Travel Fund is a new partnership involving Air Canada, Miles4Migrants, and The Shapiro Foundation.

To kick start this new program, Air Canada is generously donating 100 million Aeroplan points, and The Shapiro Foundation will match donations equivalent of up to another 50 million Aeroplan points. The organization Miles 4 Migrants will help facilitate access to travel for Ukrainians who have been approved under Canada’s expedited program for Ukrainians seeking safe haven.

I want to thank Air Canada, the Shapiro Foundation, and Miles 4 Migrants for their extraordinary generosity. This initiative exemplifies the response I have seen from Canadians in response to the unjust and illegal war of aggression launched by Vladimir Putin.

People are offering their homes, their food, their time, and their money to assist those fleeing the war. This is who we are as Canadians, and it represents the latest chapter in Canada’s history of helping those in need.

I want to give a special thank you to my friend, Sarah MacIntosh-Wiseman, the Canada Director at The Shapiro Foundation who comes from my hometown in Pictou County, Nova Scotia for her efforts in helping make this partnership a reality.

Canadians who would like to donate their Aeroplan points can do so through the Air Canada and Miles4Migrants websites, and those who would like to donate cash toward the cost of travel can do so through the Travel and Settlement Fund at the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto.

We will continue to do everything we can to support Ukrainians before and after they arrive in Canada. It is heartwarming to see our efforts be complemented with such generosity.

Thank you once again to our partners for this extraordinary gesture!

CUAET is against Ukrainian Illegals?
